Bathroom Remodeling FAQ

Below are some of the most common questions we hear from our customers when it comes to bathroom remodeling. If you don’t see your question answered, feel free to give us a call to speak with one of our Maryland bathroom remodeling experts.

Where do I start with bathroom remodeling?

Start by making a list of all the problems with your existing bathroom. Is the tub old, cracked and ugly? Are you lacking crucial storage space? Does it get so humid, the walls “sweat” every time you shower? This will give you an idea of how extensive the renovation should be. We’ll give you an estimate on making your desired updates, as well as offer suggestions on how to stay within your budget.

Can I convert my bathtub into a shower base?

Yes, we can remove your existing tub and replace it with a custom-fit shower system.

How much does it cost to remodel a bathroom?

Bathroom remodeling costs range from $3,500 to $20,000 and higher, depending on the scope of work. The tub and shower area range from $3,500-$7,000 on average. For a full bath make over they range from $8,000-$17,000 on average. We work hard to design bathrooms to fit all reasonable budgets.

What is acrylic?

Acrylic is one of the most popular products on the market. Bathtubs, showers and walls are all available in acrylic. It is also part of new high-end bathtubs and shower surfaces. Premium tubs made with acrylic offer a longer life expectancy and ease of maintenance.

When are acrylic systems and liners used?

Acrylic liners can be installed over existing bathtubs and walls. They are the perfect solution for outdated bathrooms that have no structural issues. Acrylic systems can still be used in cases where wall damage is an issue. To do so, the area is first corrected prior to the installation of your new system.

I have tile halfway up my wall on the outside area of my tub. Do you offer solutions?

We offer several solutions. We have special wainscotting that can be applied right over top the tile or if you wish, we can remove it and install all new walls.

Can bathtub-to-shower conversions be done in a house with only one bathroom?

Yes, housing codes allow for a bathtub or a shower; it is entirely your choice. Today, many people prefer the use of a shower and rarely, if ever, use the tub. This has made the tub to shower units very popular.
